Explore, Learn, Move Better.
The Premise
Φ Body Movement introduces guided myofascial repatterning concepts and movements that helps you begin to move the way your body was designed.
Backed by science, and inspired by nature.
When you move in a way your body feels safe and efficient, you start feeling less stiff, have less pain, and feel more confident.
This is what PHI BODY teaches.
Get a load of this -
Most people think foot pain, knee pain, or even low back pain start in their respective areas. However, many times these conditions may start at the foundation where your body first meets the ground or floor - the foot.
Imagine that each step that you’ve taken since childhood was slightly altered, maybe a little off due to poorly fitted and cushioned shoes. Or maybe you didn’t get to be barefoot on ground, or uneven terrain. The key development years where the foot would get to a good chance to routinely learn to efficiently use its 4 layers of muscle like it was designed. Most of us did this since childhood. So that means for decades and most likely during our growing years! Now imagine sitting at a school desk and chair for most of the day and how that could affect your whole body.
The compensations your body does to adjust to weakened and misshapen feet is amazing, but they come with a sacrifice. The body will do what it takes to keep you moving, but it may then begin to show signs of early wear and tear, chronic inflammation and pain, soreness, weakness, and even altered ways in how the muscles begin to work. So, what starts out as a very unnoticeable thing, slowly, slowly progresses into symptoms.
The Focal Point™
One main aspect of the Phi Body Method teaches you how to begin bringing awareness to how your feet meet the ground, and then using your body’s own design to reconnect to movement patterns found in the structural design of our bodies. It’s like reconfiguring your hardware back to it’s factory reset. Back to basics, but with BIG rewards.
The Focal Point is an area of the foot that we teach that helps bring awareness back to how you move in daily life. By introducing just this concept, you can begin to start repatterning your self back to it’s self. The anatomy of the foot with its bones, fascia, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves is already there. You just need to re-learn how to tap back into the movements that follow your body’s design. This is what many of us have lost over the decades. We slowly derailed ourselves out of structural alignment and balanced, efficient, safe movement.
The 9 concepts and movements we teach can be done individually or as a sequence. They can be added into daily tasks like walking, bending, squatting up and down, and more. No equipment needed. Just you and a willingness to start doing a little bit here and there to start changing your body for the better.

We hope you discover more about your self and take the journey!

A Symbol of Efficiency
Φ is an ancient symbol of natural organization, proportion, growth, and efficiency found throughout mathematics, biology, and nature. The idea that efficient human movement emerges from working with the body's inherent anatomical geometry is what Phi Body is all about.
“After seeing so many really good and really bad movement and mobility programs out there, and also seeing an ever growing amount of obviously Ai-developed programs, I can’t help but try and clear up, and simplify, effective movement for anyone willing to do active self-care.
The concepts and movements presented have come from my 25 plus years of clinical experience, lots of reading and studying anatomy books and research, many hours in dissection labs, and countless hours of observing nature (the best part!). Ai has helped me with some organization, research, and graphics, so I am grateful for that! But the Phi Body principles, concepts and ideas as presented are my own.
I hope that you find them rewarding. They are designed to supplement and enhance what you may already be doing, so please send feedback if you can”.
Tony

The main principle that Phi Body centers around is that when your feet or hands meet the ground, how that happens from that primary base contact has an influence on how your body then works to transfer that force (your weight) up the kinetic chain (your body). Our concepts, cues, and maneuvers are based here. We believe this to be a missing part of many movement modalities. It’s a detail that we build upon but that can then be used as a stand-alone (pun intended) reset and/or added to other routines. We believe that it enriches and supplements many popular exercise, mobility and movement systems out there. Win-Win!
Another concept we utilize is nerve system learning to integrate multidimensional, multi system elements of movement that honor the body’s human design which we believe follows natural geometric patterns like spirals, helices, coils, etc.. We do not focus on teaching the utilization of one major group of muscles, but teach movement as whole-body 3D myofascial force transmissions from the inside-out, and ground force up.
We have based this system on the study of live human movement and cadaver studies, published research, books, clinical experience, personal experience, and observations of nature.
